TV Shows: Tutti Frutti @ 08:32 pm

claudee:

"Tutti Frutti" was an erotic game show which aired in Germany between 1990 and 1993 on RTL/RTL plus. It was stupid but it was fun. Kind of.

Presented by Hugo Egon Balder there was some kind of uproar because of the partial (female) nudity as a central feature of the show, which is - looking back - quite funny because this shows was nothing compared to what we now see on German TV. Being called low-brow (and just a few viewers understood the rule according to Wikipedia *g*) it was a large success nevertheless. During the show, two candidates could win points with guessing games and those points could be used do undress the strippers. When a lady was almost entirely undressed, there was a so called "Länderpunkt" (country point) which in the end determined the winnings.

Hugo Egon Balder and the Cin Cin ballet

One very famous thing about this show was the Cin Cin ballet, a group of models, each dressed as a different fruit, which matches the name of the show. There were versions in other countries, too. Besides the original Italian version called "Colpo Grosso" there was one in Spain ("¡Ay, qué calor!"), one in Sweden (Tutti Frutti) and one in Brasil ("Cocktail"). It looks like there are still reruns of some shows (not sure about the country) on sattelite.

There even is a fansite available: Cincin-Girls.com.

YouTube has a video of about ten minutes. The guy in black is said Hugo Egon Balder. I don't think this bit is too offensive, just some dancing ladies (one of them stripping but keeps her underwear) and stuff. Same for the guy ;-) And, yes, it really was that weired ...

ETA: It is loading very slowly, but I am currently watching the vid just to be sure ... there's another lady which also shows her breasts. And I do not really get the rules either *g*

I feel like I should be somewhat offended, as a woman, but I just can't stop laughing. XDDDDD

Yeah, RTL must have bought the format from Italian TV, I remember seeing the exact same thing on Rai in '89.
(You can trust German TV not to have come up with anything original in the past 20 years at least. They just buy frigging everything that Endemol or British production companies have tried out to be successful and re-produce it in German.)

I remember that one. I was a kid when it was on and everyone in school was like "OMG did you see Tutti Frutti - there are women who TAKE THEIR CLOTHES OFF!!!" From todays view it's just completely silly but then it was quite a big thing because nudity in game shows was a completely new concept and also very controversial.

But do you remember what Hugo Egon Balder used to do before Tutti Frutti?

'Alles nichts, oder?', copresented by Hella von Sinnen. Occasionally, that prog was hysterically funny.

And I'm soo old.

Typical, the girls take off almost everything, and the guy is left fully clothed. Geez, what a prude :P
